Behind a warehouse door on Macquarie Street, a step from Greville Street, sits 140 square metres of quiet, considered space: a full white cyclorama, tall windows, dark timber floors and a styled lounge to work from between set-ups. Bring a camera, a collection, a client, a conversation. The studio resets between bookings, so it is always yours when you arrive.

BookWeekend bookings, Saturday and Sunday, carry a 20% surcharge.
A $400 refundable damage deposit applies to every booking, returned within 5 business days when the studio is left on time, clean and undamaged. Availability is live from the studio's calendar — pick your hours below.

By completing a booking you confirm that you have read and agree to the Terms of Hire for 29 Macquarie Street Studio, and that:
- You are responsible for damage — for any damage, loss, excessive soiling or removal of property caused by you or anyone you bring, and for cleaning or repair costs beyond normal use.
- A $400 refundable deposit applies — refunded in full within 5 business days if you leave on time, clean and undamaged; if something is damaged, only the assessed cost is deducted.
- Your card may be charged — you authorise 29 Macquarie Street Pty Ltd to charge the card used for the booking, during or after it, for damage, loss, cleaning or overstay costs beyond the deposit, after an itemised written account and 5 business days to respond.
- Overstaying costs $150 per hour — in 15 minute increments after a 15 minute grace period, plus any loss caused to a following booking.
- No shoes on the cyclorama — only models may stand on the cyc, barefoot or in clean shoes supplied for the shoot; everyone else stays off it. Damage to the cyclorama is assessed and billed immediately.
- The Studio is under video surveillance — you give your express consent, including for the purposes of the Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic), to CCTV video recording in the monitored areas, and you will inform everyone you bring and obtain their consent before they attend.
- You enter at your own risk — you have read and accept the disclaimer and limitation of liability in the Terms of Hire.
Cancel or reschedule with at least 72 hours' notice for a full refund; with less notice the amount paid is held as a credit toward a future booking. Full Terms of Hire · Privacy

Where is the studio, and how do I get there?
29 Macquarie Street, Prahran — a step from Greville Street. Two car parks are included with every booking, and Prahran Station and the Chapel Street trams are a short walk. Full arrival details come with your booking confirmation.
What's included in the hire?
The whole studio: 140 square metres with the white cyclorama, the lounge, tall windows and dark timber floors — plus the rolling clothing rack, two stainless steel work benches and two car parks. Lighting is available as an add-on (see Equipment), and you're welcome to bring your own gear.
How long can I book, and when?
By the two hours (A$300), the half day (four hours, A$500) or the full day (eight hours, A$800), Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, between 8 am and 8 pm — we're closed Tuesdays and Fridays. Weekends carry a 20% surcharge. Set-up and pack-down happen inside your booking time, so plan for them. Need an earlier start, a later finish or several days together? Email us.
Can I bring my own equipment and crew?
Yes to both. Bring your photographer, models, stylists, clients — and any equipment you like. If you've booked add-on lighting from our kit, it's set up and waiting when you arrive. Planning something larger, like a launch, a class or an event? Email us first so we can make it work.
How do I pay?
Payment is arranged when your booking is confirmed; the details come with your confirmation. A $400 refundable damage deposit applies to every booking — refunded in full within 5 business days when you leave on time, clean and undamaged. Add-on equipment is charged separately, by arrangement.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Cancel or reschedule with at least 72 hours' notice before your booking for a full refund. With less than 72 hours' notice the hire fee isn't refunded, but the amount you've paid is held as a credit toward a future booking. The full terms are here.
Anything I should know about the cyclorama?
It's a seamless white wall-to-floor curve — 34 square metres of floor, 3.6 metres tall — and it's the reason most people book. It marks very easily, so the rules are strict: no shoes on the cyc except the model being photographed, barefoot or in clean shoes brought in for the shoot; crew, stylists and clients stay off; no tape, pins, liquids or dragged equipment. Damage to the cyc is assessed at pack-down and billed immediately.
Can I hire the studio for events, or for more than a day?
Yes — multi-day shoots, launches, showings and small events are all welcome by arrangement. Email hello@29macquarie.com.au with your dates and numbers and we'll put a rate together.
